3 Day Quote Challenge…And There They Go, Over The Finish Line!

Today’s day three of the 3 Day Quote Challenge. We made it all the way to the last day, guys! Thanks again to Erin Burns for nominating me. Go read her blog. You won’t regret it.

You can find out about the rules in my first post here.

And are today’s quotes. That’s right…in honour of this being the third and last day of the challenge, I’ve decided to post three quotes about one of my very favourite things. Books and reading. None of them, I trust, will need any explanation:

NEVER be ashamed..of your books :):

There’s only one of you, my friends. Only one unique, glorious, fascinating you. So don’t waste your time trying to be anyone else, or meeting anyone else’s idea of who or what you should be. Read what you love, watch what you love, be what you love.

Keep reading. It's one of the most marvelous adventures that anyone can have. -Lloyd Alexander:

Is there any place more fun, exciting and endlessly entertaining than the depths of our own minds?

So true.:

Reading is the gift that keeps on giving. Let’s make sure more kids know that joy.

And the final three blogs you might like to visit:

  • kelzbelzphotography blogs on photography, her hobbies and her life. If you like arts, craft and an honest, captivating voice, this is the blog for you.
  • My friend Alex West muses on writing, movies and whatever strikes her fancy on Compulsive Writer. She’s one hell of a fantasy writer, and you can learn some really great tips here.
  • Tonya Moore has excellent writing advice and insights on her blog, especially for beginners. A great place for guest posts and free stories.

Thanks for staying with me through this challenge, my friends. And if you like my quotes, you can take a look at my Pinterest page, where I got most of them from.

Have a great weekend, and stay thirsty, my friends!

Meme Explosion: Doctor Who

I always want to put a question mark at the end of that, like, Doctor Who? Yeah, yeah, it’s just ‘The Doctor’ but you know, grammar and all that…

I have to be honest. The show’s not what it used to be. But I guess I’m a Whovian who became a Renewvian, and there were some good times…really good times…

Here’s hoping the new season can reignite the passion that leads to memes like these.

In Which She Has A Little Laugh At Game Of Thrones

Game of Thrones - "Winter is Coming" But when?

I love that graphic. Freaking love it. I have yet to finish A Game of Thrones, far less the others, but I do love the television series and I’m determined to read the books after the series is done. So yeah, George, love you and all and love you more when you’re writing.

And yes, I know the writers of the show know all. Which, by the way, should be a clue to some people constantly grumbling about why they aren’t seeing some character or plot-point they love from the books (because they probably don’t matter/die before the end, or it’s a red herring). But I’d like to have the books to read before the show ends, so sue me.

Also, yes, I don’t read the books before the movie/tv show anymore if I can avoid it. That’s because except for a few instances (I’m looking at you Circle of Friends, and Shining Through), the book is better than the film. I’d like to have the best experience last please. Because I tried it the other way around for Star Wars and let me tell you, that did NOT work.

Anyway, I was puttering about in my Pinterest and thought, why not put up a few of my favs for fun? So here they are. Some of my Game of Thrones laughs.

You’re welcome.

Oh, and feel free to follow me at

I would do the same thing.

Odds and Ends

So I went by my LiveJournal today for the first time in more than a year. They actually sent me a solicitous little email wondering if it was me that signed in. That’s what happens when you get a new computer and internet provider and never sign in lol.

Boy, I missed my friends from over there. But I’m so happy to make new ones here.

Also joined Pinterest today! If I’d known it as this fun, I’d have done it sooner. Is it bad that I have boards for The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Dr. Who? ‘Cause I’m too much of a fan girl to care.

Heard from my publisher recently. All good news. Cover is being worked on and the editor will be contacting me soon. Publication date is now early next year, but I think having a new experienced editor will make up for it.

Am shaking in my boots of course, wondering if she’ll hate it and jump off a bridge to avoid dealing with me. But then I remember I’ve never heard of editors committing suicide, only writers.

Good thing I’m not the type. Right?
